Trailer: Go “Into the Heart of the Mountain” with Roshi Joan Halifax
From award-winning production company By Nature Films comes the new documentary, Into the Heart of the Mountain, which follows Upaya Zen Center abbot and author (Standing at the Edge) Roshi Joan Halifax “on her path to empower women and indigenous people to preserve their culture and bring medical support” via Upaya’s Nomads Clinic initiative.
As the Upaya website explains about Nomads Clinic: Since 1980, we have been going on pilgrimage to the Himalayas and Tibetan plateau with clinicians and others bringing medical support into very remote, high altitude regions. The only way we have been able to access these areas has been on foot and by horse, and the journey into these areas has always been challenging and beautiful.”
The film is currently in post-production. Its release date is not yet announced but according to By Nature, it will be out shortly.
